Extended Abstract:

The Center for Instructional Innovation (CII) prides itself in promoting and enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness, aligning with Brandman’s vision of creating coursework that provides value and relevance for the real world. With a strong relationship between our office and the faculty, staff, and administration, we share a vision to service authentic learning by combining faculty expertise with collaborative, meaningful, empowering, and on-going professional development. The CII originated as a learning support system for all students and faculty, providing guidance, training for the learning management system, and acting as a liaison between technical services and academic offices.  This evolved into realizing that instructors needed more support/training to grow just as the university was growing, pushing the limits for innovation. The CII works closely as a team to research current technology and future innovations, engaging those we support in a collaborative and state-of-the-art way.  Offering both recorded and live trainings on a regular basis, we continue to fulfill the needs, problem solve, and be proactive in facilitating 21st Century Learning Environments both online and in blended courses.
