Getting Started with Podcasting: SNHU Joins the Movement

In this session, we discuss the benefits of podcasting for professional development, ideation, and innovation in higher education. We also share information about Southern New Hampshire University's journey into podcasting both in our College of Online and Continuing Education and Sandbox ColLABorative, our lab of strategy and innovation. 

Extended Abstract: 

Podcasting is radio for a digital age. More than an emerging form of media, however, it is also a movement gaining momentum. In higher education, podcasts are a powerful platform for ideation and innovation. Faculty and administrators use them for professional development, networking, and sharing strategies and best practices. Southern New Hampshire University is currently using podcasts across various areas of our institition, including in our College of Online and Continuing Education and the Sandbox ColLABorative, our lab of strategy and innovation. In this session, we share insights about our podcasting efforts as well as research we conducted early on about the spread of podcasting in higher education and its application. We also offer tips and best practices for getting started with podcasting and share information about some of our favorite podcasts in higher education and beyond.
