Abstract:

Have you ever wondered how could the user experience be measured so that you can improve it on your online platforms? Delivering the best design is not always easy, but our students and instructors deserve to have the most effective and efficient tools.

Extended Abstract:

In this non-stop word, and every time more, students and instructors have less time to search how to conduct specifics tasks or find relevant information on the online campuses.

Improving the user experience becomes essential when it comes to delivering a top product that must accomplish all kind of user needs and be effective, efficient and intuitive. To reach this level, we need to ensure all interactions make sense and can be easily understood. Also, the visual design must be very clear to avoid confusion.

During this workshop, we will learn how to conduct a heuristic evaluation and how to take the results into consideration when designing a better campus. We will also work with a practical example, explaining the usability problems a hypothetical Campus is facing and attendees will work to find the best way to improve the user experience through design and interactions.

After the session, the attendee will be able to analyse an interface through the 10 Nielsen principles and will have some tools to work to solve those issues, enhancing the user experience within the campus.
