The pandemic changed the way of life altogether, let alone education. What was once identified as non-traditional education is now beginning to be viewed as traditional education; how education is being provided. More and more institutions and organizations are adopting the non-traditional method of operating, educating, training, and engaging with basic communications and interactions. Per the pandemic, it became the sole method in continuing education across all educational platforms. However, with this method being applied, there is an identified concern where this new method has no human to human interaction and the learning experiences are minus humanized engagement. The question now is, how has the pandemic changed education for our students? And what can be done to help with the changes and pivots that had to take place? What is missing and needed?
The topic of the session is, “How the Pandemic has Changed Education: From the Students of the Pandemic”. This topic is important for better engagement, student support, and innovation in how the learning environment is supportive at the same time of active instruction. The topic will allow the discussion and exploration of concerns identified by students and/or experienced. Overall, the topic will address the need for humanizing the online classroom instruction to better meet where students are placed in life experiences.
The plan of interactivity will include a live discussion of the topic; focusing on identifying with possible innovative solutions incorporating more student support. Questions and stat results will be used to further identify ways of humanizing the online learning environment at the same time of instruction. This will allow a depth of knowledge to be presented per the discussion.
