The goal of this presentation is to provide a space aimed at sharing information on areas of consideration for the creation of a central course element, the syllabus, with an equity lens.
The goal of this presentation is to provide a space aimed at sharing information on areas of consideration for the creation of a central course element, the syllabus. Information presented could also be used to shape and revise faculty to student interactions. These areas include a discussion of basic terms, equity, privilege and microaggressions. Information will be shared and discussed on syllabi revision with an equity lens. This presentation is designed to provide an open and safe space for the conversation on how to be more equity-minded as a faculty member. The presentation will conclude with the sharing of information on two topics: social justice in curriculum and culturally responsive teaching.
