Extended Abstract:

Academic institutions in our country have become aware of the need to promote the use of resources to ensure equity and foster collaboration with disadvantaged institutions.  As a professor of language, history and literature I accepted the challenge to extend professional assistance to a Preparatory School in Tororo, Uganda, after a colleague shared with me an appeal from the Director of the school. I completed certification for online teaching in the Fall 0f 2020 and felt that the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired through the certification program would be beneficial to address the proposa and complete the project.  From the initial stage of the project to its completion I realized that the administrative aptitude demonstrated in my extensive experience as a professor led me to overlook some of the basic factors in assisting the preparatory school to establish the use of digital technology at the administrative level.  This study presents some of the basic elements overlooked and lessons learned in assisting an institution to set up and implement the use of digital technology for administrative purposes.
