Howdy, Time-traveling Gumshoes! Your team will need to investigate inconvenient truths and find solutions to age-old pedagogical problems. Join us as we investigate various scenarios in education history to discover the eye-opening, inconvenient foundations of higher ed practices. Experience a co-learning game and design solutions with your peers. 

Extended Abstract: 

Howdy, Time-traveling Gumshoes! In order to escape the Ed Tech Time Loop, your team of private eyes will need to investigate inconvenient truths and find solutions to age-old pedagogical problems. Join us as we investigate various scenarios in education history to discover the eye-opening, inconvenient foundations of higher ed practices. To solve the case, participants will travel throughout the history of higher ed technology to uncover dubious claims and determine if the continued implementation of these practices align with student-centered approaches.

Participants will team up to interview subject matter experts, investigate suspects, and collaborate live with your team to reimagine possible futures.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept it:

  1. Interview subject matter experts and suspects throughout the history of pedagogy!
  2. Explore various controversial practices, paradoxes and paradigms.
  3. Deduce the historical reasons for certain (disputable) modern-practices and how we might reimagine these scenarios.
  4. Develop a solution as a group how to make learning more equitable and accessible in 2021.
  5. Replace outdated thinking with student-centered strategies.
  6. Experience a live virtual co-learning game in Zoom!
