This presentation identifies the professional development gap between the Office of Disability Services Office, Instruction support staff, and faculty regarding disability awareness and accommodations needs of students with disabilities (SWD) in online courses and identifies strategies to meet the needs of online college students with disabilities.

This presentation identifies the professional development gap between the Office of Disability
Services Office, Instruction support staff, and faculty regarding disability awareness and accommodations needs of students with disabilities (SWD) in online courses. To increase SWD academic success, improvement in three areas are essential: (a) Office of Disability Services advising and support; (b) faculty perceptions and
attitudes towards accommodations; and (c) faculty development.
