Extended Abstract:

There is no shortage of content in the world today. Structuring that content in a meaningful way for our students is the new battle we instructors face. Cobbling together articles, videos, PDFs, OER, simulations, and other links can leave our students confused of where to start. Even worse, worrying about broken links has resulted in many sleepless nights for instructors and LMS administrators.

Learn how St. Petersburg College moved past a one-size-fits-all approach and brought together original content, OER, videos, & adaptive learning via McGraw-Hill’s Open Learning Solutions. St. Petersburg College faculty, Nick Manais & David Monroe, approached McGraw-Hill seeking to solve the following problems:

  1. Combine content from multiple sources into a cohesive student experience
  2. Create a flexible, engaging, & adaptive learning environment
  3. Provide flexible delivery options for students to access the content
  4. Ensure measurement of learning outcomes and student efficacy
  5. Reduce costs for students, while still delivering everything above

Leveraging robust tools/platforms that already serve millions of students each year, Solutions Architects were able to identify, create, and implement a tailor-made courseware solution. St. Petersburg College now has a flexible digital solution that not only meets all of the goals above, but does so in an innovative solution that builds the bridge between digital, blended, and online learning.
