Abstract:

90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual. It’s time to communicate beyond text. Come and learn the value that visuals bring to communication in an online learning environment.

Extended Abstract:

When it comes to online education, visual content can make or break the success of your students. Images and videos have proven to increase retention rates, therefore providing effective content will allow your students to not only focus, but remember. So next time you’re creating learning content, why not consider an infographic, a short video, or incorporate a gif or two?

Join Lenoir-Rhyne University adjunct instructor Ryan Eash as he takes you through the tools needed to create visual, engaging content that your students are going to remember. Attendees will learn how to create simple, yet attention-grabbing content that is going to engage your students much more than a textbook will. Instructors will have the opportunity to see how easy-to-use visual editing tools can take a simple lecture and turn it into something the student can visualize, listen to, or interact with.

Attendees will:

1. Learn how to create effective visuals that help students retain information

2. Navigate through easy-to-use editing tools that help with content creation

3. How to integrate interactive elements into videos to make them even more powerful
