Special Session:

Abstract:

Let's talk about how to help all students be Career Ready by building programs where they can acquire career skills and competencies and work toward career certifications while also working to graduate from high school.  Too often students who are not bound for College have limited or no options for preparing for a career while in high school.  We would like to change that paradigm and one school Summit Academy is doing just that.  In this session, we will discuss the needs for preparing students for careers while in K-12 schools and what a program like this can look like for some of the most at risk students or even for students who have already dropped out of high school.
