Video To The Next Level In Online Learning

Audience Level:
All
Institutional Level:
Higher Ed
Abstract:

Using video in online courses is considered standard and almost mandatory. But not all video is equal.

We will be showing best practices, techniques, and tools that can take video to the next level of effectiveness and engagement with students.

And showing off how our use of TechSmith Relay has transformed into the central hub of video on our campus and online learning.

Extended Abstract:

In online courses, video is one of the key ways to connect with your students, build relationships, and facilitate learning. And while most teachers uses video on some level in their classes, there is a wide gap in quality, consistency, and usefulness.

We will look at what questions need to be answered by the institution, college, and faculty in order to provide the best video set up for student success.

And then deep dive into what are some best practices for video, how to get the most out of your video time, techniques that can drastically improve viewing retention, and of course, what tools will help you make the best videos.

Throughout the session, I will be showing how my school is using TechSmith Relay as a central hub for video. How our teachers are using it, as well as how our students our using it.

Everyone in the audience will be encouraged to participate in sharing knowledge, questions, and creating video during and after the session!
