Exploring Digital Media, is an undergraduate course that builds students' information literacy skills as they critically evaluate the relationship society has with technology. In this online course, students have the opportunity to be creative, communicate with peers, collaborate, and critically think all while participating on their own schedule. Throughout the first half of the semester, students examine relevant technology related topics such as fake news, texting while driving, implications of social media on relationships, etc. Later, students use problem-based learning to build their professional online presence as it directly relates to their career goals. In this session, attendees will experience what it is like to be enrolled in this humanities course through hands-on engagement using Google Docs, SideStudy, and Twitter.
