Launching high quality courses on schedule can be challenging. This session will demonstrate the workflow of one ID who works remotely and is responsible for over 60 courses each semester. This is a demonstration and discussion of a fast paced, proven workflow that helps ID's finish courses and meet deadlines.
With limited support staff and a growing catalogue of online courses, launching high quality courses on schedule can be a challenge. This session will demonstrate the organization and workflow of one instructional designer who works remotely and is responsible for over 60 courses each semester. This is NOT a presentation of theoretical, bells and whistles course development that looks fancy and might work. This is a demonstration of a fast paced, real world proven workflow and organization that will help ID's get it done and meet deadlines.
Starting with an empty course shell, the ID preps everything in the LMS so the instructors can just log in and teach on opening day. Each semester includes new course developments offered for the first time and many repeating courses. The ID also provides technical support to faculty and staff throughout the semester. All courses pass a Quality Matters review system based on national standards for online courses. These graduate and undergraduate programs have 100's of enrollments each semester and consistently receive high ratings from students. During the presentation, the ID will start the timer and do a complete prep of a course for the next semester to demonstrate how this process works.
Audience will learn how to:
- organize a high number of courses
- efficiently manage the workflow for developing new courses and setting up repeating courses
- work 100% remotely from off campus while instructors, other staff and students are on campus and around the world
