To conduct effective program development, it is time to “drop the hype, bust the myths” and move to a pragmatic approach.  Online program development can be fraught with competing perspectives from different stakeholders. Many schools today struggle as they have to make a decision on whether to use an OPM company for online program development or manage it in house.  In this practical and interactive session, we will discuss the both options, identify the parameters on how to make the decision and discuss the challeneges and opportunities that each of the options presents.
In the first part of the session, we will share how a small team in an independent medical school pulled off the creation a full online program for senior health care professionals launch within 11 months addressing a lot of the hype and myths about online program development along the way. It will be dedicated to providing actionable information around the following learning objectives:

- LEAN methodology principles and how to use them in creating an online program.

-identifying the major hurdles in securing regulatory approvals,
-maintaining distinctive program features throughout the program development and launch processes,
-what fundamental IT/ID tools worked best, and
