This session will explore effective planning, design, and management strategies that provide structure and promote the success of student virtual teams. Also, the importance of incorporating strong universal design principles in the development of virtual team learning experiences will be discussed.

Extended Abstract: 

The use of virtual teams for project-based learning in online asynchronous courses can provide enhanced learning experiences for students. However, the use of virtual teams is not without challenges. A key challenge in the implementation of virtual teams is ensuring that the experience is well-managed and accessible for all students. This session will explore effective planning, design, and management strategies that provide structure and promote the success of student virtual teams. Also, the importance of incorporating strong universal design principles in the development of virtual team learning experiences will be discussed.
