Abstract: 

The session will cover how to build a positive learning environment in the classroom. We will talk about meaningful facilitation, ways to build a positive classroom, the importance of communication, tone and participation. During the session we will talk about how to deal with difficult students and help struggling students. 

Extended Abstract: 

Tools for Building a Positive Learning Environment in the classroom session will point out some importance skills that can make a classroom experience into a positive learning environment between faculty and students. First, the session talks about what meaningful facilitation means to students and faculty, what are some examples of building a positive environment and how we as faculty can help students to learn.

Next, we will talk about the importance of clear communication, set trust and tome in the classroom, and tips how to be and stay positive. During the last part of presentation, we will talk about how to handle difficult situation with students and how we can help struggling students to regain positive attitude toward classroom material and activities.

 By the end of the session participants will have some tools how they can turn their classroom experience into more positive experience.
