Abstract: 

While many people understand the need for alt text for images in online and blended learning, many do not know all of the many questions this poses. Which image counts as 'decorative'? How do I describe a graph? What if the image is a chunk of text? How descriptive should I be? Come and explore this topic with some hands-on activities and discussion!

How do I describe a graph? What if the image is a chunk of text? How descriptive should I be? Come and explore this topic with some hands-on activities and discussion! 

Accessibility sessions often try to cover all of the needs in 40 minutes or less, leaving more questions than answers for people new to course design. This session, inspired by one of OLC Innovate 2022's Game Nights, will tackle only images because images are pervasive, varied, and can cause the most confusion. Come and laugh, learn, and tackle accessible images with us for this working session. We will look at images that include code, graphs, charts, infographics, and more.
