Abstract: 

Teaching professionalism is an integral part of the curriculum for health professions programs. E-professionalism focuses specifically on professionalism related to one’s on-line or electronic presence. This interactive presentation will provide participants with examples of poor e-professionalism and for ideas to adding e-professionalism into their curriculum using a case-study based pedagogy.

Extended Abstract: 

Teaching professionalism is an integral part of the curriculum for health professions programs. The advent of social media has heightened the need for educating students in regard to electronic professionalism. Health professions students should understand the importance of social accountability and how to be a professional in the online arena. This interactive presentation will provide participants with examples of how to add e-professionalism to their curriculum using a case-study based pedagogy. Case-study topics include current scenarios faced by health professions students and health care professional in everyday practice.
