Abstract:

To ensure educational equity among students and better equip them for the workforce, Proctorio strives to preserve a high standard of academic integrity while carefully protecting each student’s personal data.

Extended Abstract:

As educational institutions respond to COVID-19 by moving test-taking online, the protection of academic integrity becomes more and more critical. But as institutions explore various remote proctoring options,  students have been left wondering what this means for the security of their data and their privacy.

Since Proctorio’s inception 7 years ago, privacy has been at the core of our product, not an afterthought. Proctorio was created to securely expand learning opportunities to students everywhere. To accomplish this, Proctorio is the first and only remote proctoring solution to utilize zero-knowledge encryption to protect exam data. This ensures that only the instructor or an approved institution administrator can access exam data. Proctorio was designed specifically to protect the integrity of assessments without compromising the security and privacy of our users.

Attendees of this session will have the opportunity to discuss the shortcomings they face with remote instruction and protecting the privacy of their students. This session will enable attendees to have a deeper understanding of how Proctorio sets itself apart from competitors through our unique approach to simultaneously protecting both privacy and integrity.. While this presentation is likely best for the higher education audience, anyone who is interested in remote education should attend. This presentation will utilize slides and a product demonstration to show the important components of privacy, security, and  Proctorio’s robust suite of secure exam features.
