Extended Abstract:

Today, it seems that everyone is all about creating, providing, or having “an experience.” From entertainment to edutainment-- we’ve seen a remarkable resurgence in the demand for experience and interactive storytelling. If you are looking to spark real change, think beyond instructional design by diving into experience design approaches.

In this session, we call on all disruptors to explore the complex and exciting world of experience design (XD) and its application within the learning and training sector. To start, you’ll briefly explore the role and status of information within learning and how this has changed in light of recent advancements in communication technologies and a renewed emphasis on building competencies. From there, we will dive straight into experience design. You’ll be introduced to what experience design is, how it works, and how to truly harness the transformative potential of experience to inspire and support long-term, meaningful change at both the individual and organizational levels.
