Abstract:

By giving particular attention to both student and faculty preparedness for online, blended/hybrid teaching and learning, Western Technical College has achieved course completion rates for online and blended/hybrid courses that nearly match our overall college’s course completion rate for face-to-face instruction. A focus on faculty professional development, quality curriculum and instructional design, and required student training for online and blended/hybrid courses has contributed to this success. In this session we will discuss the systems and support that have contributed to this success at Western and encourage session attendees to also briefly share what other initiatives have proven successful for their institutions.
