Extended Abstract:

This session will give instructors and instructional designers ideas for utilizing campus resources to help online students develop professional skills in academic, career and interpersonal areas as well as connect with the university. These events/activities could be built into the course curriculum or used for extra credit. Partnering with campus resources and departments will make your online environment more engaging and interactive for the online student. These partnerships also give faculty and instructional designers an opportunity to make campus connections and learn what resources are available to online students or collaborate to create new opportunities. Specific examples of engagement activities include: live-streamed presentations, workshops, and webinars.

In this presentation we will:

  • Share strategies and methods to make the most of your campus resources.
  • Discuss ways to partner with your career center and other departments to integrate live-streamed campus events and workshops into your online classroom.
  • We will allow time at the end of the session for attendees to share past experiences and discuss ways they can use their campus resources to enhance the online classroom.
