Abstract:

These days, everything is a learning experience (LX), from training to brand and organizational content. The growth of design thinking, UX research and design anthropology is changing how we digitize content and subject matter. Although this approach has been used widely by design firms, tech companies, and startups, it is becoming a global trend in business, social, and government sectors due to its efficiency and effectiveness regarding the possibilities of the intersections of creative, design, edTech, media, interactive storytelling and digital technologies.

Extended Abstract:

The growth of design thinking, UX research and design anthropology is changing how we digitize content and subject matter. Although this approach has been used widely by design firms, tech companies, and startups, it is becoming a global trend in business, social, and government sectors due to its efficiency and effectiveness regarding the possibilities of the intersections of creative, design, edTech, media, interactive storytelling and digital technologies. Lauralee walks through the benefits of learning experience design in the digital space to tell a value-based story that engages and how using design frameworks can create meaningful human-centred learning experiences. She provides a framework and tools that include discovery, content architecture, visual and interactive design, dev, and testing to showcase how to incorporate meaningful design into interactive and digital learning experiences so that each end product is fresh and impactful for learners, users and clients. She discusses how digital learning is breaking apart real problems and not only increasing awareness and understanding of issues across the globe but promoting genuine dialogue and powerful learning opportunities. When we think about how digital learning products were traditionally developed, design was there to “make things look good” and was usually looped well into the production process. With the rapid growth of technology, learner behaviour is continuously evolving – and so are learners’ needs. Creative learning experience design allows organizations to innovate and disrupt traditional development processes that are no longer meeting these needs and develop digital products based on human-centered design.
