Abstract:

Moving a face-to-face interaction into a self-paced online experience using innovative tools and technologies is a challenge faced by all instructional designers and faculty. In this education session, we will explore how to create an interactive online experience from conception to a final working product.

Extended Abstract:

In this education session, we will explore steps on how to take a face-to-face interaction for Higher Ed, Industry, and Government institutions and turn it into an online experience.  This session is design for intermediate to expert level instructional designers, designers, faculty, and training professionals. During the session, participants will be encouraged to ask questions related to management, instructional design and development principles throughout the presentation.  The session will utilize an example product developed by the Instructional Design and Technology department at the University Of South Florida College Of Nursing. We will cover best practices for working with a subject matter expert in the development of an interactive online presentation.  Will explore resources that can help you and your subject matter expert with the management and development of an interactive scenario based learning product. Then move on to the steps to take a conceptual idea from prototyping, design and development of the final product. In this session will also review the design and development tools (Audacity, Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, Lucidchart, and Office 365) used in the production of the interactive interview simulation.  In addition, the presentation will provide attendees with some useful tips and resources that can help them achieve similar results.
