Extended Abstract:

The Excelsior College Library team has been integrated into an online graduate research and writing course for over 15 years. The librarians co-teach one module and grade an assignment section. During these many years, the librarians have continuously developed new ways to embed instruction. In addition, they have changed how they share information with students in the course. This past year, they undertook an assessment to evaluate student perceptions of the librarians’ instruction and embeddedness as well as measure the effectiveness of the librarians’ involvement.  This session will demonstrate how the librarians are currently embedded into the course and also share learnings from the student assessment results. Attendees of this session will discuss and view real-life examples of librarian online course embeddedness and various ways of accessing the librarians. The session will also allow attendees to learn from student feedback on librarian involvement.
