This award-winning, non-credit course models how to build and teach an online course using sound pedagogical principles and is delivered in an M (mixed) mode. Over the years, the training has grown as the university has grown, offering strategies that enrich student learning while fostering a culture on campus that adds value to the online teaching and learning initiative. In this Discovery session, we will highlight the “must-haves” for any successful faculty development plan and share resources that will help participants include these elements in their own faculty development programs. Tips include enhancing faculty engagement, maintaining a high-quality faculty development course, and encouraging faculty buy-in. Instructional designers Dr. Shelly Wyatt and Tina Calandrino will answer questions on their facilitation and on-going improvements in IDL6543.
Participants will receive a 5 point “Must Have” list for their faculty development initiatives along with free, open-source resources that include a templated faculty development plan.
