In 2016, the Personalized Learning Consortium at the APLU selected eight universities to implement and scale adaptive courseware in their general education courses. Adaptive Learning Program Managers from these universities will report on how the development and implementation of adaptive learning has impacted their campus.
June 30, 2017 will mark one full year into the APLU Adaptive Courseware Grant. How receptive are faculty to using adaptive courseware, and how has it changed the way high-enrollment, general education classes are taught at public universities? Is adaptive learning making a difference in student success? Are adaptive courseware contracts a boon or a threat to traditional textbook publishers? How can faculty and institutions go about confidently selecting adaptive coursewares that will best meet their unique needs? Understanding the early successes and challenges and sharing these experiences broadly are critical to improving the way adaptive courseware is developed, promoted, selected, delivered, assessed, and enhanced over time. Adaptive Learning Program Managers from grantee universities, including Georgia State University, the University of Mississippi, and Colorado State University, will answer these questions and share the particular accomplishments and challenges the grant program has generated at their institutions.
