We all strive to support student success efficiently and effectively. Come learn about one institution’s strategy to support students through a laser-focused and collaborative approach. Participants will capture and share ideas of how their own institutions can apply a focused approach toward current challenges.
OLC Learning Outcomes:
- Explore a real-world case study on how an institutional issue was successfully addressed
- Identify your own institutional issue that could benefit from a similar streamlined approach
- Discuss your own applications for the case study principles
We all strive to support student success in the most efficient and effective ways possible. In this session, you will learn how the Psychology team at Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education (SNHU COCE) took on this challenge. We implemented an initiative that targets high-enrolled courses for focused outreach by instructors and advisors.
We will provide the presentation slides on the conference website. At the start of the session, you will receive a worksheet to capture ideas on how you can relate the case study lessons to your own work.
First, we will describe the initial problem of active students who miss one or more high-stakes assignments in their course, thus impacting their success. Then we will describe the initial broad approach and the ways in which we narrowed the focus to increase both efficiency and student success. You will follow the process and outcome, backed by real-world data and feedback from SNHU COCE instructors and advisors.
To conclude, you will share ideas for your own applications in an interactive discussion.
