Discovery Session Description
Colorado Technical University uses a combination of innovative technologies to manage the CTU Learning Center, an integrated part of the CTU Virtual Campus. The CTU Learning Center provides a wealth of resources to over 20,000 CTU undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students throughout the world on topics such as: business, information technology, math, military and veteran resources, nursing, security students, student success, and writing support. Faculty members engage with students by hosting regular weekly presentations on a wide variety of interesting topics. They are also able to host interactive discussions, publish articles, and gather academic resources for students. Students are able to engage beyond the classroom, become involved more closely with their field of study, and prepare for their career.
This discovery session will provide audience members with a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore the CTU Learning Center. Likewise, they will be able to discuss the innovations used in the CTU Learning Center to expand upon the learning center concept, learn how the CTU Learning Center encourages professional development among faculty members, and see the positive educational impact the CTU Learning Center has for our students. The presentation will highlight the CTU Innovation Leadership Center, which is one of the many engagement-focused disciplines included in the CTU Learning Center.
The CTU Innovation Leadership Center currently has two seasons of an online interactive lectures encompassing over 40 episodes. It includes articles and resources designed to inspire student critical thinking and creativity in their field of study. The CTU Innovation Leadership Center includes interactive asynchronous discussions to encourage faculty and student engagement. The discovery session will conclude with a description of the future plans for expansion of the CTU Innovation Leadership Center and how other institutions might develop similar types of resources.

Presenter Biosketch
Dr. David G. Gliddon
Lead Faculty, College of Business and Management
Colorado Technical University
As a member of the White House Community Leaders program, Dr. Gliddon attended a White House briefing and met President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at a White House reception.
Dr. Gliddon is Lead Faculty in the College of Business and Management at Colorado Technical University and has taught over 20 different courses in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. He earned his doctorate and undergraduate degrees from Penn State University and his master's degree from the University of Scranton. As part of his post doctoral work, he attended MIT and the University of Cambridge.
He has over 15 years of experience in education and human resources and has taught Americans living in all 50 states and in over 20 different countries. He received ISPI's First Place Distinguished Dissertation Award for developing the competency model of innovation leaders. As founder of the concept of innovation leadership, his work has inspired the development of innovation leadership programs, writings, and awards throughout the world in governments, universities, businesses, and popular media.
He has written and made contributions to many publications. He authored the chapter "Performance Management Systems" for the Handbook of Improving Performance in the Workplace. He spoke at the ISPI International Conference at Walt Disney World. As a reviewer, he has served SAGE publications and the Academy of Management. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Global Education Review. His research has been listed as suggested reading by the National Council on Teacher Quality and the Federal Consulting Group.
He has performed with vocal ensembles at the National Cathedral in Washington DC, Caerphilly Castle in Wales, UK, the U. S. Navy Academy, and at various locations along the US east coast and in the UK. He is an Eagle Scout. He wrote and produced a play, assisted in the production of a play and a musical, and co-produced a concert festival.
