Abstract: 

This presentation discusses the student-faculty interactions that promote retention/persistence in higher education for Latinx students.  The student-faculty relationship and interactions are important components to Latinx student persistence /retention.  It explores the role of authentic faculty who help to increase Latinx student retention rates.

Extended Abstract: 

This presentation explores the student-faculty interactions that promote retention/persistence in higher education for Latinx students.  It also discusses the role of the concept of authenticity and how faculty who are authentic help to increase Latinx student retention rates.  Research has shown that the student-faculty relationship and interactions are important components to the academic experience. Authentic faculty are in part attributed to the academic success of Latinx students in higher education.  Come explore how a no-cost tool can help increase retention and graduation rates for Latinx students.
