With all the pervasive technologies adopted by institutions, what is needed to ensure a connected learning environment to help students achieve learning outcomes? This session will examine US-based interregional accreditation guidelines and research-supported quality frameworks the educational communities use to facilitate the maximum return of investments for teaching and learning.
With all the pervasive technologies that institutions are making big investments to adopt, what needs to be in place to guide and ensure the integration of these systems provides a connected and trusted learning environment to help students achieve learning outcomes and/or demonstrate mastery of competencies? What research-supported quality frameworks and best practices from the educational communities in USA are available to facilitate the maximum return of investments for teaching and learning? And how can these frameworks and best practices support institutional accrediation needs?
Participates in this session will have an opportunity to 1) scan and review the current US-based educational technology landscape; 2) examine a set of widely adopted US-based interregional accreditation guidelines for quality assurance at the institutional level; 3) discuss how a research-supported quality assurance process and criteria for 4-part certification can be used to improve quality at the programmatic level; and 4) share their experience or inspiration in using a rubric of quality standards adopted by over 1100 institutions to guide the design and development of quality online and blended or technology-enhanced courses. The session will conclude with reflection from participates on what strategies and resources are needed to establish or sustain a quality assurance process to improve teaching and learning for their own institutions and help their students succeed.
