Do you ever create and deliver content that you feel is compelling, meaningful and a must know for your audience, but you experience a lack of connection from your participants when they are interacting with your content? The missing piece can be the ability to fully identify and understand your end user’s needs. In this interactive workshop you will learn how to connect with your participants in new and exciting ways by becoming an expert in identifying their needs. Building content without the ability to know your end users can create a disengaging experience, where participants fail to experience and learn your content effectively. When participants are disengaged they begin to learn content in less then meaningful ways, this can result in not be able to achieve the learning outcomes you have set out. Being disengaged can also create an experience of lack of integrity and trust from your participants in what you have to offer as an expert. The key is to be able to fully identify your end user’s needs before engaging in the creative process of building content.
In many cases throughout organizations, participants are seemingly disengaged with their learning experience, and as a result fail to achieve their learning outcomes in ways that could be more successful. The main issue is that we as practitioners often fail to clearly identify our end user’s needs, and thus in the designing of content, while the content is rich with knowledge, we fail to apply what we have sought in knowing our end user in the content development process, and thus content delivery fails to hit the mark in connecting with participants.
This workshop will take you through an interactive process of learning how to better identify your end user’s needs, and apply your knowledge in ways that can foster an engaging and meaningful experience for your participants in any realm of industry. Learning how to become an expert in identifying your end user’s needs, you begin to acquire a sound understanding of who they are and what their needs are. You may learn about what they ultimately want to learn in their organization to be better support and best perform their roles and responsibilities. You may find how they learn best, and thus can create various means to deliver your content and what to include into you content to ensure they are being educationally stimulated. You may learn that there are inconsistencies with what management and employees need and want to be able to contribute to their personal and professional growth. These are all critical pieces that can enable you to build content that is suitable and adhere to what people want and need. When we can identify our end user’s needs, and mostly identify any gaps that may exists, we can begin to build content that is going to foster a connection with the end user, one that can be meaningful and engendering if in the creation process we apply our knowledge of who they are and how they learn.
