Abstract:
Middle School aged girls lose interest or are driven away from STEM. This initiative created a platform for girls between the ages of 10 and 14to engage, learn, and support one another as they developed new skills or enhanced exiting skills.
Extended Abstract:
Intentional curriculum design focused on supporting girls interested in the STEM fields is overdue. This session provided insights into the success and challenges of design and implementation. Using experiential data, observation, and testimony from students this conversation exemplifies the concepts of introduction, design, self paced learning, on demand learning, and project based learning for the purposes of creation in an authentic learning space.
