One of the hottest topics in education today - The Flipped Classroom. We will discuss the pedagogy, methodologies, and tools behind the flipped model and ideology of instruction.
This session will focus on the methodologies and specific tools used to flip your classroom. The pedagogy of this growing ideology and model of instruction will be discussed including examining other teacher’s experiences including equitable access. As an online instructor of a course with this same title, I will be sharing the experiences of several other teachers who have taken my course in the process of learning how to flip their own classroom and will share some of their trials, victories, and frustrations. The session will mainly discuss a variety of tools and processes typically used in flipping a classroom, including:
Recording lessons with video
Recording lessons as screencasts using several tools
Recording lessons with other tools already in your classroom
Posting your videos online
Creating an online presence for your classroom
How to make your video lessons available to ALL of your students
What to do in class now that your lectures are watched at home
