Learn how 1,000 institutions use LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor to prevent cheating during online exams. Includes a demo of the automated flagging system!

Extended Abstract:

Over 1,000 institutions rely on LockDown Browser to deter cheating in proctored environments. In this session, you’ll learn how Respondus Monitor builds upon the LockDown Browser technology to prevent cheating in non-proctored testing environments. Respondus Monitor is fully-automated and is 30-50 times more cost-effective than live proctoring. Students use their own webcam to record the exam session. Instructors can then review summary data or video from exam sessions, including flags of suspicious behaviors that occurred during the exam (eg. a student leaving the computer, a different person entering the video frame, etc.) Along with a demonstration of the software, you’ll learn about key challenges of online testing, including verification of student identity, preventing students from accessing unapproved materials during an exam, how to protect exam content, and more.
