Abstract: 

Gain knowledge of how to build a faculty=friendly open repository of open access and digital resources, implement a program that supports the use of such resources, and navigate the publishing industry to advocate for student-friendly eBooks for students.

Extended Abstract: 

The average undergraduate spending upwards of $1200.00 per year on textbooks which is cost prohibitive for most online, adult learners. Additionally, as learners continue to engage in accelerated online learning environments, the need for instant access to course resources is a necessity. The combination of decreased cost to students and instant access to course resources can act as an enabler of student success and retention.

Attendees will gain knowledge of how to build a faculty=friendly open repository of open access and digital resources, implement a program that supports the use of such resources, and navigate the publishing industry to advocate for student-friendly eBooks for students.

In addition to an overview of creating such a program, attendees will learn how to engage multiple departments to increase the success of such a program, as well as how to project resource allocation.
