While blogs are great, sharing diverse viewpoints in a space with over 600 million blogs reduces the opportunity to start something new. Why should you care? This session will highlight podcasting as a stage for sharing research and advocacy through simple planning steps and focusing on a specific area of intention.
The session presents a design challenge with scholars from Kenya, Qatar, and the United States and their work on a Podcast series that amplifies inequities across cultural and geographical boundaries. Podcasting is ideal for leaders and advocates interested in beginning or entry-level podcasting skills who wish to develop their comfort and technical ability to create focused podcasts related to their leadership or advocacy pathway.
Audience members will analyze change work they could transform through the modality of podcasting, and how their voice behind the podcast mic could be a call to action.
Presenters will share the steps to creating their Podcast series and invite the audience to brainstorm ideas for planning and production which include similarities in podcast platforms and options, cultural implications for scaling, and guidelines for hosting.
