Abstract: 

To advance learning in the new now, a multi-phased approach to instructional design which emphasizes innovative and effective practices and assessments are necessary. This session will address the phases in an instructional design relationship from the birth of a course to ongoing assessment that ensures quality of design and delivery.

Extended Abstract: 

To advance learning in the new now, a multi-phased approach to instructional design which emphasizes innovative and effective practices and assessments are necessary.  During this session, our team will detail a system of checks and balances which ensures that a course is designed for a diverse audience of learners. This includes the birth of a course, where an accessible, equitable, diverse, and learner-centered system that ties with backwards design is addressed prior to development. The next phase uses an ADDIE design approach that is uniquely tied to course development focused on student-centered quality teaching and learning practices. A third phase addresses how assignments and media are uniquely considered to meet all audience needs while ensuring a quality experience in learning. The final phase focuses on the delivery experience of the course for both the instructor and student. This phase examines the overall experience of our audiences and identifies via assessment and derived data those  opportunities that  inform cyclical changes to the course.
