TeachLive is a new technology reality that allows teacher candidates, new and experienced teachers to practice their skills with students in a risk-free environment.
Teachers report that issues related to challenging student behaviors are one of the most stressful parts of their professional lives (Allday et al., 2012).
There have been longstanding criticisms that teacher preparation programs are not providing their teacher candidates with the proper strategies and opportunities for them to be highly effective in dealing with behavior problems (Thompson et al., 2012).
It is important that we provide teacher candidates and current teachers the opportunity to engage in instructional strategies to increase positive academic and social behaviors.
TeachLivE does just that. The use of this virtual classroom is changing the face of teacher preparation and professional development by giving teachers the opportunity to craft their practice and practice their craft. Kennesaw State University is only one of two Georgia universities currently using this technology.
