Want to learn about innovative tools to use in your classes? Come explore and create something fun!
Many faculty members and K-12 teachers attend innovation-type conferences to learn new tools they can put to use immediately in their classes to enhance content, engage students, and provide new ways for students to show off their own learning.
This workshop will cover many web-based tools that faculty members can use to enhance a variety of pedagogical situations-- for blended, online, and even face to face teaching. Faculty members and teachers will decide which tool they'd like to "play" with and we will have time to work collaboratively (or individually if they prefer) to develop a new product they can use immediately for their classes. There will be time to showcase some creations at the end of the workshop.
Participants will be exposed to engaging technologies such as:
- PowToon
- Socrative
- Screencast-o-matic
- Explain everything
- Telegami
- Thinglink
- Zaption
- TedEd
- Voki
- Soundcloud
It is possible that new tools will emerge between now and the conference, and, if so, I will include them as well. Each participant will be provided with a document that I call "Give me the bells and whistles" that lists these as well as many other tools, including those appropriate for K-12.
