Abstract:

Using keys to unlock access to domains, we discuss the approach at one campus to offer faculty, staff, and students open doors to online spaces.

Extended Abstract:

CI Keys is a domains project inspired by Jim Groome's keynote presentation at ET4Online in 2014. CI Keys provides faculty, staff and students their own domain name and online space. This space provides unlimited opportunities and flexibility to design and create. In the days of massive Learning Management Systems and increased monitoring of educational technologies, CI Keys provides faculty the freedom to explore that is not always readily available. During this presentation we will examine what has been learned, gained, created and explored since the inception of CI Keys in fall 2015. To understand the implementation of CI Keys, we will approach the evolution of this project from diverse perspectives, including viewpoints from instructional design, administrative, staff, and faculty. We will demonstrate what CI Keys is, how it has been used, and what the future may look like. This presentation will engage the audience in a conversation about the possibilities that result from offering domains to members of the campus community.

In this presentation you will:
- Learn about the implementation of CI Keys and how it is supported.
- Hear about faculty experiences and reflections after creating within CI Keys.
- Discuss the possibilities of a domain program such as CI Keys.
