Policy and technology solutions applied in tandem to build a success plan for academically at risk students. Big Brother or Big Idea?
SUNY Oswego has identified increasing student retention as a key performance indicator for the college. The college has implemented an early alert system to identify and aid in retaining academically at risk students. Additionally, as of Spring 2016, a new policy defining academic probation, and more importantly a process for academic recovery has been rolled out. The early alert system tracks the students' progress in meeting the goals of their individual success plans, and identifies those continuing to be at risk.
This session will provide an overview of the IT solutions that support this program as well as faculty advisement professional development aligned with this effort. "Live" results of our first term under this new policy will be shared in this presentation.
