Ensuring Quality in Both Design and Implementation: How to Evaluate All Phases of a Program

Abstract:

We will discuss a systematic approach to creating and assessing quality online and hybrid programs that may be useful in your institution.

Extended Abstract:

While many institutions focus on individual course quality using a variety of established criteria, a division of the Laureate Network Office, developed an original, customizable quality assurance process that accounts for the unique features of individual institution's hybrid and online programs.
This session provides an introduction to a new digital design and implementation QA process that accounts for quality evaluations at various points throughout the design and development processes. Additionally, we will introduce Laureate International University's patent pending (research-based) approach to the program quality review process. This process takes into account not only the quality in the design of a program, but more importantly, the appropriate implementation and delivery of the courses / program. We will introduce this method and explain the value it holds for the various institutions across the Laureate global network. We will also discuss how we have been able to customize this process to meet the needs of the various programs and /or campuses.
We will offer hands-on activities for the audience to see how the process is applied and we will discuss the value of having a third party quality review of your academic programs. This presentation should appeal to all attendees of the conference, in particular those that design courses and programs, those working with assessing quality in courses/programs, and those whose focus is on accreditation.
